DAAT Criminal Justice Team/ Drugs Intervention Programme Team Profile, Latest Updates and Contact List
The DAAT Criminal Justice Team/ Drug Interventions Programme (CJT/ DIP) is a Government criminal justice strategy designed to break the cycle between problematic drug use and crime. The CJT/ DIP team is made up of drug workers based in Stoke Newington and Shoreditch Police Stations, Thames & Highbury Corner Magistrates Court and in the community at Tudor Grove. The CJT/ DIP is here to bridge the gap between assessment and referral from the Criminal Justice System (CJS) and effective engagement into structured treatment. It is the first step for individuals to address their problems regarding drugs and other related issues. Our main aim is to engage, support and stabilise drug misusing offenders, with the view to fast tracking referral onto structured treatment and onward into aftercare support. We offer a brief intervention model of assessment, stabilisation and referral. Latest Update The developments for DIP relating to the Business Case were signed off by Hazel on 25th March. The principle initiatives are listed below-:
